Life can change in an instant- why family pictures matter {By Mimi}

Anyone who asks me if they should get family pictures taken my answer is always “Yes! Yes! Yes!” As i’ve gotten older i’ve realized that the saying, “Oh they grow up so fast,” is more literal than I could’ve anticipated. Coming from a High School senior’s perspective, I feel like the past 3 years have gone by in what feels like a couple days. So for me, the photos my family took are very close to my heart. I love being able to have a solidified image of my family all together for when life gets chaotic.

Often, families go into shoots with the idea that they will take hours or not turn out well. In my family's last minute choice to do family pictures, Heather tore down any negative expectations we had. She created a fun, relaxed environment, and the results are pictures we will cherish forever. She didn’t have to pull any teeth to get the boys in my family to pose because she knows exactly how to make people laugh and have an enjoyable time. Also, Heather instinctively knows how to find the perfect lighting and location for your family photos.

Another reason my family pictures mean so much is because our lives changed from this:

The first picture is just one of many photos taken by Heather before our lives got flipped upside down. A month after our photos, my dad got into a car crash that changed our lives forever. I don't want to seem all doom and gloom; we've adapted, grown, and are perfectly happy. Our family shoot shows the love we have for each other and how we have all grown together. I love being able to look back and cherish who we used to be. We were a family who loved to travel, have family breakfast every weekend, and have movie night. Now, we are a family who still loves to travel, eat more than enough breakfast together, and have family movie night. One of us just happens to sit in another type of chair.
