En Route Mother's Day Fashion Show, the start of a new tradition
In celebration of all the mamas, En Route Fashion Boutique hosted their first ever Mother’s Day Fashion Show on Saturday. And based on the response, it certainly won’t be the last. Jennifer Wagner, opened En Route, last May and has climbed to the top of the shopping list of many in central Illinois who love fashion. You can find trendy pieces, comfy classics, accessories, footwear and a variety of items perfect for gift giving. The prices are reasonable and the customer service is great. Some of the most popular brands they carry are KanCan, Dear John, Zsupply , Blowfish. Malibu, Bedstu, Roxy and Lola, and Unplug Candles. And for those Mahomet locals she also has Bulldog apparel custom designed on the cutest t’s and hoodies with the retro Bulldog logo. The camo shirt on Jesse below is one of the many that has had to be replenished multiple times due to the fast pace they fly off the shelves.

You should follow En Route Fashion Boutique on Facebook and Instagram. When new items arrive, she is quick to share on social media. And often, the pieces she shares online are sold out the very first day. And not everything in her shop gets ordered a second time so snatch it up while you can. I’ve been in several times and I’m amazed at how quickly the jewelry sells out but always gets replenished quickly with a variety of statement pieces perfect to add to your collection.
The fashion show was just the beginning of the fun for the attendees. Four models, pictured below walked the runway wearing the newest pieces to the shop. En Route carries junior, women’s and a small selection of plus sizes. And this year, they will also be expanding to providing a larger selection of clothes for young girls with an eye for fashion.
While shopping, the guests were offered mimosas and treated to appetizers catered by Pan and Cake Catering. The food was beautifully displayed and tasted amazing! The waffles drizzled with chocolate and topped with candy… ahhhhhmazing! Even the simplest appetizer of pita bread with a grape and greens was a mix of textures and flavors that were divine. If you’re ever in the need of a catering for a small event at your home, large corporate event , or wedding be sure to check them out. You won’t be disappointed. And I FINALLY got a chance to try one of the famous Acai bowls by Just Bee Acai located in Champaign. There are so many varieties to choose from so since they were small, I tried a few. ;-) My favorite was Bee Powerful but they were all delicious. Wanna see where they will be popping up next? In addition to free samples by Just Bee Acai, guests also received an En Route gift card to use the day of the show, an additional En Route gift card to use on a return trip as well as a $10 gift card from Yellow & Company… another store you must visit when you come to Mahomet. Loved that this event involved so many locally owned businesses run by women. It doesn’t get any better than that!
I’ve had the opportunity to work with Flora Design Studio on several occasions when I photograph weddings with Kristin, under our wedding brand Sweet Darling Weddings. Her designs are always one of a kind and gorgeous. Flora had a couple arrangements on display and one lucky attendee even walked away with a beautiful bouquet. Flora has been offering a variety of classes, workshops and pop-up shopping events so be sure to check out their Facebook page to keep up to date with what’s happening.
Look who won the bouquet… another local florist. ;-) Andrea and her family love shopping local and even better when the quality and style of clothes are not typical for this area. Thanks to all of the loyal customers, En Route Fashion Boutique is celebrating their one-year anniversary this month. And the growth the boutique requires more help so Jenny recently hired Micaela Singer as the General Manager of En Route Boutique. The attendees also got their photos taken with their friends or family members. I loved seeing women of multiple generations attending the fashion show together. What a great way to spend an afternoon with those you love. And I took a selfie with my friend Sarah cause you know, #I’mEnRoute too. :-) One of my favorite En Route pieces is the navy blazer I am wearing is by Matty M. It gives people a false perception that I am fashionable and trendy when in all reality it’s a disguise. ;-) Here’s the secret… it’s comfier than my favorite sweatshirt. No joke. I can wear jeans and a white t-shirt, then throw this blazer on with a necklace and voila! It’s like magic…. I feel like I’m wearing a hoodie but dressed to be taken seriously when meeting with clients. It’s the best of both worlds!
